Helix was commissioned in 2018 by the artists Almir and Delmar Mavignier in conjunction with the DAN Art Gallery in São Paulo. The project aimed at recontextualising the body of work left by the artist Almir Mavignier after his death in 2018. It was my great pleasure to get to know Almir in the last years of his life and his guidance at the start of the project was invaluable to me.

The process of translating the visual medium of painting into music was at the centre of the project. This page documents the artistic development behind the composition "Helix"- the first work of the series. This painting was jointly created by Delmar Mavignier (son) and Almir Mavignier.
